The London public transport system is divided into concentric circles, with zone 1 at the centre. Heathrow is in zone 6, and the furthest out is zone 9.

You’ll find most of the main sightseeing attractions in zone 1, and the vast majority of visitors here on holiday find that they only need to travel in zones 1 and 2 at most.

Zone 1 covers central London. This is the perfect area for holidaymakers and families, and especially for anyone who wants to explore the city on foot. There’s a huge amount to see in the contrasting and impressive areas of Westminster, Mayfair, West End, Kensington, Covent Garden and more.
